General rules
- Users should enter their details i.e., ID number, name, time and sign in the register kept at entrance of the Library.
- Except laptops and books, other personal belongings (bags, briefcases, parcels etc.) are required to be deposited at the baggage counter kept at entrance of the Library.
- Food and drinks are strictly prohibited inside the Library.
- Users are required to carry their ID card when visiting the Library.
- Silence must be observed inside the Library . As far as possible, mobile phones should not be used inside the Library.
- Books should be handled with care. Marking, writing, defacing is not allowed on books and defaulters will be penalized.
- Plaksha Library follows the Open Access(OA) System and hence the users can directly access bookshelves in both the stacks and the reference sections.
- Books or other material taken from the stacks should not be re-shelved by the readers. Books should be left on the reading table after use (‘’Please remember that a document misplaced is a document lost’’).
- Users are requested not to leave behind any personal belongings like laptops, mobile phones, chargers, earphones or any other electronic gadgets, water bottles etc. The Library will not be responsible for loss of the same.
- Users are responsible for any damage caused by them to the property belonging to the Library.
- Chairs and tables should not be disturbed from their position. Users should avoid resting their feet on tables, chairs, shelves, windowsills.
- Do not attend online classes, interviews, interactions in the reading areas, instead use team rooms.
- For better use of the Library, users can approach the Library staff for assistance.
- Any infringement of the above will lead to the termination of book borrowing privileges from Library.
- The Librarian reserves the right to suspend the usership of any member found misbehaving, abusing the Library staff or behaving in an indecent manner. Such cases will be brought to the notice of Dean Student Life, Director Student Life and Disciplinary Committee.
