Circulation Services
Borrowing of reading material facility is available to Plaksha students, faculty, researchers and staff. The registration to use the Library facility and services is automatic for faculty, researchers and staff on joining the University and for students on registration for the academic programs.
Membership
The Library services are open to registered users only. Guest/ Visitors will be allowed only for a short duration with prior approval of Admin Manager(ankur.wadhwa@plaksha.edu.in) or Front office(poonam.dulguch@plaksha.edu.in).
Plaksha ID Card is necessary for issue & return of reading material.

- Library remains closed on University holidays
Check-out/Check-in Process:
- Our university Library follows the Open Access(OA) system and hence the users have the privilege of direct access to bookshelves in the stack and reference sections.
- Users should get the items duly issued/returned at the circulation counter and collect/return them in person.
- Books will be issued to the user according to their borrowing privileges by processing in Koha Library software.
- Users should be refer the term books within the Library only, by submitting their ID card to the circulation counter person.

Fine / Overdue Charges
Rs. 5.00 per day overdue charges will be applicable for students if book/s and other overdue item/s are kept beyond the due date.
Fine will be charged even on the Sem holidays and University holidays, thus users are advised to renew/return their book/s on or before the due date.
Renewals
- Library material can be renewed twice, if there are no reservations on them by other users.
- Renew the issued book/s by logging in to your account via OPAC.
- After completing the two time renewals, user should return the book/s to library
- Contact the Library staff or send an email at library.circulation@plaksha.edu.in for your OPAC credentials.
Reservation
- The users can reserve one item at a time if that is issued to others. Whenever the item is returned, the user will get an email.
- The reserved items should be collected within 48 hours, else the reservation will be cancelled, then item can be issued to next in the line.
- A book can have a maximum of two reservations.
- Reserve/hold an issued book through the online catalogue, using "Place hold" option.
Recall
Library staff may recall a book/s at any time in special circumstances i.e., technical, processing or data changes on the Issued book. It is mandatory to return the book(s) when it is recalled.
Reminders
Users will get an auto mail for every issue, return and renewal of the book/s from the Library.
Loss of / Damage to Library materials
- The User must report immediately loss or damage of any resource.
- The User should replace the resource at their own cost within 30 days.
- If the User fails to replace the book within the stipulated time, the Library will initiate the purchase and borrower would be charged the actual cost of the resource plus 20% as an additional charge towards replacement cost of the book along with overdue charge (*exclusive of 18% GST applicable on service charges).
Personal Books and Issued Books
- Users are allowed to bring in their personal books, Library books already issued on their name and other reading materials inside the Library.
- Users will have to produce these items at the circulation counter every time while entering in and leaving the Library.
